Day 95
1. Jacob puts his finishing spices on dinner for tonight
2. Pumping up a flat tire
3. Five Guys while waiting for our flat tire to get fixed
4. Chocolate Mousse with Sara
5. What else - Not much, but here's Mom's facebook status for more about 2&3. :)
Set out on errands today. We stopped for gas where it was pointed out that one tire was really low so we then proceeded to a tire factory store. Since it was past lunchtime we decided to take a walk to a Five Guys hamburger joint that we had just passed. Two miles later of slogging through icy rain and strong wind blowing stinging pellets of water into our faces, we finally reached our destination. By the time we had finished eating we were only halfway thawed out but being the courageous and plucky type we decided to brave the weather and head back. Thankfully the wind and rain had abated. The return trip much to our surprise was only about 1/2 a mile long.

Heart-Work
"...the greatest difficulty in conversion, is to win the heart to God; and the greatest difficulty after conversion, is to keep the heart with God... Heart-work is hard work indeed." John Flavel
Found in Sanctuary of the Soul by Richard Foster
An expanded quote found here...
Heart-work is hard work indeed. Are you inclined to undertake the business of keeping your heart? Are you resolved upon it? I charge you then, to engage in it earnestly. Away with every cowardly feeling, and make up your mind to encounter difficulties. Draw your armor from the Word of God. Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in its commands, its promises, its threatenings; let it be fixed in your understanding, your memory, your conscience, your affections. You must learn to wield the sword of the Spirit (which is the Word of God) familiarly, if you would defend your heart and conquer your enemies.
